PulsON 452 (P452) UWB RANGING RADIO
The PulsON 452 (P452) is TDSR’s high performance UWB OEM module, featuring the company’s revolutionary FIFE (Fully Integrated Front End) custom silicon chip. The P452 stands apart as our best in class ranging radio module, offering extremely precise ranging over distance in the type of high multipath, highly reflective environments where GPS and other systems struggle.

P452 Ranging Module Overview
The P452 ranging module provides users with exceptional functionality:
- As a ranging radio, the P452 uses Two-Way Time-of-Flight (TW-TOF) ranging to precisely measure the distance between two or more P452s. These ranging measurements have an accuracy of 2 cm and are provided at rates up to 125 Hz. Data communications is also supported.
- The maximum operating range is variable from 300 m to 1100 m, depending on antenna height and ground surface characteristics.
- A version of the P452 is available that is equipped with onboard power amplifiers to boost the transmit gain by 15-18 dB. (For every 6 dB increase, you double your range.)
- The RangeNet software suite provides a network optimized for TW-TOF measurement. This ranging network can be operated using either the ALOHA or TDMA protocols. A location engine has been added to support rapid design of user navigation and tracking systems.
- The hardware is designed to operate over the full industrial temperature range (-40°C to +85°C) as well as operate in high shock and high vibration environments.
- The P452 transmits pulses instantaneously across the 4.0 to 4.6 GHz band and is fully 5G-compatible. The UWB RF emissions are compliant with both the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Part 15 regulations and the European Union ETSI EN 302 065 standard mask.
