P452 Radar Sensor

The world’s most capable UWB radar sensor

REDEFINING RADAR PERFORMANCE FOR THE TOUGHEST ENVIRONMENTS

PulsON 452 (P452) UWB RADAR SENSOR

The PulsON 452 (P452) is TDSR’s high performance UWB OEM module, featuring the company’s revolutionary FIFE (Fully Integrated Front End) custom silicon chip.  Apart from its function as a ranging radio, the versatile P452 can be configured to operate as a fully-coherent, short-range monostatic or bistatic/multistatic radar sensor. In doing so, the P452 achieves the most RF bandwidth (600 MHz) at the lowest possible center frequency (4.3 GHz), with performance comparable to much more expensive 10 and 20 GHz systems but with much better propagation characteristics.  It is also our platform of choice for UWB radio propagation analysis and channel modeling.

Coherent Timing

Fully coherent short-range radar offers excellent clutter rejection and fast update rates

Ultra-Wide Bandwidth

600 MHz instantaneous bandwidth

Raw Scan Data

Provides raw radar scan data, allowing tailored filtering and detection strategies targeted toward specific applications

Industrial

OEM device capable of operation at industrial temperatures and in high shock/vibration environments

PulsON 452 (P452)
UWB Radar Sensor

TDSR’s PulsON 452 (P452) module is configurable as a monostatic/bistatic/multistatic radar sensor. It can also be used as a tool for radio propagation study and the creation of communications channel models.  The P452 is a fully coherent UWB transceiver and is driven by FIFE, the company’s 6th generation custom UWB silicon chip.

P452 Radar Sensor Overview

The P452 radar module provides users with world-class functionality:

  • The P452 can operate as a monostatic, bistatic, or multistatic radar. It provides the resolution required to achieve clutter rejection for operation inside buildings and in other complex environments.  It provides both raw and filtered radar scan data as well as detection lists consisting of the distance and amplitude of targets within its scan range.
  • Short range operation (a few inches to hundreds of feet) with minimal blind range
  • High resolution (<6”)
  • Fast update rates (up to 20 kHz)
  • Provides raw radar scan data, allowing tailored filtering and detection strategies targeted toward specific applications
  • The hardware is designed to operate over the full industrial temperature range (-40°C to +85°C) as well as operate in high shock and high vibration environments
  • The UWB RF emissions are compliant with both the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Part 15 regulations and the European Union ETSI EN 302 065 standard mask.

The P452 is a cost-effective, easy-to-use, and reliable UWB radar front end. It is being deployed worldwide by innovators like you to unlock a range of powerful applications, from Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging and tagless people tracking to obstacle avoidance, drone altimetry, and proximity sensing.
